What to Expect
Combined approach.
Your Gympie dentist and dental hygienist will examine your mouth and confer with you:

Thorough assessment of the overall health of your teeth and gums, looking at tooth surfaces, gum health, reviewing areas of concern.

A professional clean - removal of plaque from above and below the gum surface.

Close assessment of gum health.

Polished teeth, leaving them feeling smooth and fresh.

A discussion of any areas of concern and treatment options.
Your dentist or dental hygienist will then show you how to care for your teeth at home and will recommend the correct products for you to use. A dental examination and x-rays will also be offered.
This is very important to help your dentist determine the health of your teeth, gums and mouth. Your dentist will examine your entire mouth and gently explore the state of your teeth and gums, talking you through the process step by step.
Things to Note for your First Appointment
We warmly welcome all new patients to Channon Lawrence Dental:
When you arrive to our Welcome area, you will be greeted by our reception team and asked to complete a medical / dental questionnaire, please arrive 5 minutes early to allow for this vital information to be collected.
We suggest you allow 60 - 90 minutes for your initial consultation, as each individual is unique this can vary. If you have any previous dental x-rays or treatment plans please bring these along.
During your initial appointment:
The dental clinician will conduct a thorough oral health examination:

of your bite and gums
-
your tooth structure and your smile.

evaluate your chewing function and smile through photos of your teeth and new x-rays if necessary.
Any concerns you have will be listened to and acted upon if required.
At this time we may schedule a follow-up visit, if your case requires this. At this visit, we will discuss your treatment needs and provide you with a written treatment plan outlining options, fee estimates and priorities.
Medical Dental Questionnaire
At your first visit, you will be asked to complete a medical/dental questionnaire. Information in the questionnaire will be kept in strictest confidence. This information is important to the optimal outcome for your dental health.
