Is Everyone a Candidate for Dental Implants
No, not everyone is a candidate for dental implants. Your Gympie dentist will evaluate whether this dental treatment is appropriate for you.
One of the key factors to consider for dental implants is the availability of sufficient bone in the area where the implant will be placed. Your dentist will assess this.
It's important to inform your dentist about any medical conditions, medications, vitamins and supplements you're taking as they may affect your suitability for the treatment.
Cigarette smokers and patients with periodontitis are not ideal candidates for dental implants.
What Are the Advantages of Dental Implants?
Dental implants offer several advantages over other tooth replacement options. That’s why they are a popular choice for those seeking a long lasting and convenient solution for missing teeth.
They closely resemble real teeth in both look and feel and can be permanently fixed in place. Unlike dentures, they do not require any special care or maintenance.
Dental implants are also very strong and durable, allowing them to replace any number of missing teeth without affecting neighbouring teeth.

Today's Best Alternative to Natural Teeth.
Have you recently, lost one tooth or several or lived with it for years? How have you adjusted?
Adjustment can be very difficult, losing such an important part of yourself. With the advancements in modern dentistry, dental implants are today’s best alternative to natural teeth – and can be your doorway to renewed self-confidence and peace of mind.
What exactly does a dental implant look like?
A dental implant consists of the implant body, which is hidden in the bone, and an abutment that is screwed onto the top of the implant. The final tooth restoration is then placed on top of the abutment. - see the diagram.
Alternative to a bridge or dentures.
Dental implants replace the root of the tooth, then a crown is placed on top to create a full smile.
Implants are an alternative to a bridge or dentures and can be used to replace one or more
missing teeth and they can even be used to hold dentures in place.

Not everyone is suitable for All-on-4® and/or dental implant treatment.
